We are conducting an exclusive search to identify a seasoned professional to assume overall management of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory (CTL) for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance which is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

The Cellular Therapy Laboratory (CTL) is responsible for all minimally manipulated therapeutic cell processing occurring at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA). Procedures range from cryopreservation to more complex procedures such as cell selection, enrichment, and depletion. The laboratory is regulated by the FDA, CGTP/cGMP standards, maintains CAP certification, and is accredited by the Joint Commission and FACT.

Requirements:

· Four-year college degree with major in medical technology or biological sciences required.

· 2+ years of clinical lab experience with 6 months of experience in a clinical cell-processing laboratory

· Certified Medical Technologist is preferred.

· A good understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) or current Good Tissue Practices (cGTP) is preferred.

· Mature judgment

· Flexibility in scheduling

Responsibilities:

· Process cellular products/specimens as dictated by standard operating procedure and specific orders using aseptic technique.

· Perform quality control testing of components, including manual and automated nucleated cell counts, flow cytometry staining, colony-forming unit assays (CFU-C)

· Analyze results of processing for component quality control testing

· Thaw cellular products and assist in component re-infusion

· Perform billing for procedures and tests as applicable.

· Perform special processing: RBC Reduction, CD34 Enrichments, CD3 Depletions

· Take active part in proficiency and competency testing:

CAP and Stem Cell Technologies

Flow analysis and gating

Manual Cell counts

· Assist with the Bone Marrow collection within Operating Room as needed.
