As Patient Care Director (PCD), you will manage all aspects of patient care delivery within the Pediatric-ICU at one of the top ranked facilities in the nation for pediatric care.

You’ll leverage the talents of the Clinical Nurse Specialist and experienced practitioners. You’ll also access incredible research and publication opportunities, including analysis of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) data for an upcoming national initiative.

Line infections, VAP, and other indicators are consistently exceptional on this unit – a premier environment for evidence-based advancement.

As Patient Care Director, you will build on the clinical expertise of over 70 top talented RNs by fostering autonomy, critical-thinking, collaboration and a thirst for professional achievement.

This is a true Med/Surg unit – many transplants completed in PICU – Liver, Kidney, Small Bowel, ortho, Neurosurgical, oncology (post tumor removal) (no lungs or heart); Size 18-20 Beds, 27 bed at max capacity; 73 RNs in unit (including per Diem)

Requirements

2+ to 5 years of experience

Management Experience Required Master’s degree in Nursing or related field and NYS licensure, supported by progressive management experience in a critical care environment. BCLS & PALS certification is required, while CCRN and clinical management certification are ideal.

The Qualified Candidate will have a background in Adult ICU, Peds, and Critical Care. PICU experience is ideal.
