We have been engaged by a large multi hospital non-profit health system to assist in the search for a seasoned Director of Quality and Outcomes for their 200-bed acute care community hospital in the Houston Metro area.

The Director is responsible for leadership and strategic direction, oversight, and coordination of the departments and functions of: Utilization Management, Quality Management to include Clinical Outcomes, Risk Management, Infection Control, Accreditation, Social Services and Service Quality to include Patient Satisfaction and Clinical Support.

The Director regularly collaborates with Medical Staff, Hospital Leadership, and outside agents to collect and analyze hospital data, implement strategies and manage outcomes to provide cost effective, quality safe healthcare delivery.  Communicates effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, and external groups including regulators, payors, and accrediting bodies.

1.         Leads staff, management and physician committees in setting related goals to ensure seamless quality family centered care throughout the health-illness continuum.  Leads and directs initiatives to improve patient and hospital operations and service quality.  Delegates effectively by entrusting responsibility and authority to others.  Assumes administrator on-call responsibilities.

Ensures the timely, complete and accurate exchange of information (written and verbal) and ideas.  Informs senior management of pertinent information.  Serves as a communication link between management, staff, and outside agents as needed.  Serves as a content expert to the Board of Trustees and prepares reports that are professionally written and provide an accurate interpretation of the information.

  • Master’s Degree in health-related field required.
  • Valid Texas nursing license, will accept compact state
  • Five years hospital or healthcare related experience with a minimum of three years management.
  • Experience in leading hospital or system DNV or Joint Commission activities required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills related to statistical and systems analysis.

  • Current Texas licensure or certification in specialty area of practice highly recommended.
  • CPHQ preferred.
