Manager CDM - Charge Capture

We are just beginning a search for an experienced Manager – CDM and Charge Capture who will be responsible for providing system wide day-to-day operational oversight to the charge description master and charge capture processes for a multiple hospital system with 100 clinics in the Seattle Metro Area.

Promotion has created this exceptional opportunity.  This is a management level position providing direct supervision to approximately 10 - 15 line staff.  This position operates independently requiring independent judgment, discretion, decision-making, organization, and prioritization with major decisions requiring the review and approval of the Administrator. Internal contacts include department management and staff throughout the organization.  External contacts include third party payers, outside agencies, and peers.

Responsibilities

?       Oversees staff providing direction and guidance, and administering management functions within the provisions of organizational policies and standards and federal, state and local regulations

?       Oversees Charge Description Master (CDM) and charge ticket creation and maintenance

?       Oversees and directs the timely preparation of all reports, assigning projects, maintaining completion schedules and following up as appropriate

?       Leads and oversees charge capture processes to include a charge capture system and regular and systematic reviews of all clinical area to ensure accurate charge entry for all services provided

?       Leads all pricing strategies for Health System

?       Ensures accuracy of Charge Description Master tables which enables appropriate billing and financial data

?       Develops CDM pricing optimization strategies

?       Identifies and coordinates needed resources for all functions (e.g. outside consultants, software, education materials, training, etc.)

?       Works closely with Billing, Compliance, HIM, IS, FDS, Managed Care, Materials Management, and Clinical Departments

?       Works with IS to implement new systems to maximize efficiency

Requirements:

–       Knowledge of and a broad understanding of healthcare operations and key cost and revenue drivers

–       Knowledge of and understanding of health care reimbursement methods and ability to apply this knowledge to develop annual pricing strategy

–                Skill and innovation in the use of the decision support applications

–                Ability to work efficiently under pressure

–                Demonstrated skill in providing effective leadership and in mentoring staff

–                BA or BS in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or Clinical Administration

–                Masters Degree preferred

–       Five years experience in charge description master and charge capture processes required

–                Three years minimum supervisory experience in healthcare
