This position is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating the services/activities of the nursing resources office for a 350 bed private nonprofit acute care hospital, and regional referral, teaching and research center, Known for innovations in patient care, and named a recipient of the 2006 HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence.
The nursing resource office is staffed by the Nursing Supervisor/Manager, Bed Control Coordinator, and the Rapid Response Nurses. Essential duties include: 1) Overseeing the work of the Nursing Supervisor group,, Bed Control Coordinator, and Rapid Response Nurse as it relates to the day to day operations the hospital. 2) Ensuring employees are qualified and properly trained to perform assigned job duties. 3)Manage departmental functions by establishing and monitoring operational controls and standards.4) Makes employment decisions, establishes performance standards, assess clinical competency and evaluates employee performance and addresses issues. 5) Implements new processes and ensures that performance improvements are conducted in a timely and effective manner. 6) Holds regular staff meetings and keeps employees apprised of all matters relevant to successful job performance.
Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare or business administration; current enrollment in a program; or commitment to achieve a Master’s degree (must be enrolled in a Master’s program within one year from position entry date and complete the program within three years from position entry date) required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington required. Also required are: Five years acute care nursing experience, including three years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience; relevant clinical and business knowledge, which may include appropriate certification; excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills; and an understanding of budgets and planning.
